A reception will be held at TUSAŞ Kahramankazan facilities under the hosting of the Presidency of Defense Industries Chairman Haluk Görgün. The event will be attended by senior military and civilian officials from NATO and allied nations, as well as executives from international defense industry companies. Turkish defense industry products will be displayed at the program, and national air platforms will conduct demonstration flights in the sky.
The Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) stands at the center of Turkey's vision in defense technology. Established in 2018, the SSB is tasked with increasing localization rates, developing national technologies, and coordinating the defense industry ecosystem. Under Chairman Haluk Görgün, the SSB collaborates with ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, TUSAŞ, Baykar, and other major defense companies to provide solutions that address Turkey's regional and global security needs.
Turkish defense industry has made significant progress in recent years in air platforms, missile systems, electronic warfare solutions, and naval platforms. National air platforms include the KAAN fighter aircraft, AKINCI and ANKA unmanned aerial vehicles, HÜRJET training aircraft, and Bayraktar TB2 systems. These platforms offer designs compatible with NATO standards, ensuring operational effectiveness alongside allies. In the missile and rocket systems category, national technologies include the HİSAR air defense system, SOM and ATMACA guided munitions, and the BORA rocket system.
The NATO Summit Defense Industry Forum represents a strategic opportunity for Turkey to demonstrate its defense industry capabilities on an international platform. Such events strengthen technology sharing, joint project development, and defense industry cooperation among allies. Turkish defense companies actively utilize these platforms to increase product and service exports to NATO nations. In particular, unmanned aerial vehicles developed by BAYKAR have been exported to more than 30 countries, achieving a significant position in the international market.
In the global defense industry ecosystem, the display of defense platforms at international exhibitions and summits is standard practice. The United States, Europe, and other advanced defense industry nations showcase their technologies at similar events and establish relationships with potential customers. Turkey's conduct of demonstration flights of national air platforms at the NATO Summit underscores both technological competence and the spirit of alliance. Such demonstrations provide an important opportunity for decision-makers who wish to observe the reliability and performance of defense industry products.
