BREAKING NEWS
Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi AŞ, known as MKE, has added a new missile system to its portfolio of domestic and national defense products. The ENFAL-17 missile, developed by MKE and named after a chapter of the Holy Quran, has been introduced as one of the company’s newest solutions in the field of missile and ammunition technologies. As one of Türkiye’s long-established defense industry institutions, MKE continues to expand its role in high-technology weapon systems through new-generation products.
ENFAL-17 is positioned among the new systems developed by MKE in line with the requirements of the modern battlefield. During SAHA 2026, the company has stood out with platforms and systems such as the ATTİLA vehicle-mounted howitzer, URAN vehicle-mounted howitzer, TOLGA close air defense system, ALPAY-2 minefield breaching system and various ammunition solutions. With ENFAL-17, MKE has further expanded its product diversity in missile technologies, showing that it is taking on a more visible role not only in conventional weapons and ammunition, but also in advanced missile systems.
The name ENFAL-17, taken from the Holy Quran, is one of the symbolic elements that drew attention during the system’s introduction. The name gives the domestically engineered defense system a national and spiritual identity, while the platform is expected to contribute to the deterrence capacity of the Turkish Armed Forces. In modern warfare, precision strike capability, cost-effectiveness, rapid production and integration into different platforms are becoming increasingly important. MKE’s new missile system is therefore considered one of the capabilities that may respond to these evolving needs.
MKE’s missile and ammunition systems are important not only for increasing the firepower of land forces, but also for providing rapid response capability against aerial and asymmetric threats. The introduction of ENFAL-17 demonstrates that Türkiye’s goal of developing critical ammunition and missile systems through national resources continues. Such systems carry strategic value in reducing foreign dependency, ensuring supply security and responding quickly to operational requirements.
Although detailed technical information about ENFAL-17 remains limited, the new missile has already become one of the notable topics on the Turkish defense industry agenda. In the coming period, more information is expected to be shared regarding the system’s range, warhead, guidance structure, platform integration and mission concept. These details will clarify which operational gap ENFAL-17 is designed to fill for the Turkish Armed Forces and what role it may assume in the field.
MKE’s introduction of the ENFAL-17 missile stands out as a step that strengthens Türkiye’s determination to expand product diversity in missile and rocket technologies. With domestic production capability, engineering experience and systems shaped by operational needs from the field, MKE continues to be one of the key actors of the Turkish defense industry. The performance of ENFAL-17 in future testing, integration and inventory phases will determine the contribution it will make to the deterrent power of the Turkish Armed Forces.
