BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye’s groundbreaking unmanned combat aircraft, Bayraktar KIZILELMA, has reached another milestone in its expanding flight test campaign. The PT-3 prototype successfully completed its Aggressive Climb and Maneuver Test, a crucial phase designed to evaluate the aircraft’s aerodynamic responsiveness, stability, and control precision under high-stress flight conditions.
The test measured KIZILELMA’s ability to perform rapid altitude gains, sharp turns, and high-angle-of-attack maneuvers — all while maintaining stability through its advanced fly-by-wire flight control system and autonomous flight software. The results demonstrated impressive agility and structural endurance, reinforcing KIZILELMA’s readiness for upcoming high-speed and high-altitude trials that aim to push it toward its supersonic potential.
Footage of the test was shared by BAYKAR Chairman Selçuk Bayraktar via his Next Sosyal account. The video showcased the aircraft executing rapid climbs and aggressive roll and pitch maneuvers, highlighting both the responsiveness of its control surfaces and the precision of its onboard flight algorithms. Bayraktar noted that these maneuvers represent a critical step in validating KIZILELMA’s combat agility and operational resilience.
Defense analysts view this achievement as a major advancement toward operational deployment. The successful test confirms KIZILELMA’s ability to handle complex flight envelopes and paves the way for integration testing involving sensor systems, data links, and weapon payloads. As Türkiye’s first indigenously designed unmanned fighter, KIZILELMA continues to embody the country’s ambition to lead the next generation of unmanned air combat operations with a platform capable of both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions.
KIZILELMA’s combination of high maneuverability, autonomous decision-making, and low observability positions it as one of the most promising UCAVs under development globally — symbolizing a new era in Türkiye’s defense aviation.
