BREAKING NEWS
Photographs and video materials circulating on social networks reveal that Kazakhstan's Special Forces personnel have been employing the SAR9 SP pistol, designed and manufactured by SARSILMAZ, during tactical firearms training. This development underscores the expanding influence of Turkish weapons manufacturing in regional and global defense markets.
SARSILMAZ, one of Turkey's leading firearms producers, has engineered the SAR9 series to meet the operational requirements of specialized military units. The SAR9 SP variant was developed in accordance with technical specifications established by Turkey's Special Forces Command and currently serves in active inventory. Kazakhstan's adoption of this platform reflects confidence in the quality and reliability of Turkish defense industry products within the strategic region.
The SAR9 SP pistol combines a polymer frame with an alloy-forged steel barrel, delivering secure and practical operational performance. The weapon incorporates hammer and trigger safeties alongside elevated fixed sights and rear sight aperture. Accessory mounting provisions include a suppressor adapter, magazine well, and retention lanyard loop for tactical flexibility. Advanced passive safety mechanisms—hammer safety, trigger safety, and drop safety—prevent accidental discharge in the event of impact or ground contact, ensuring operational security in demanding environments.
Ergonomic design represents a defining characteristic of the SAR9 SP platform. The pistol has been engineered to conform precisely to user hand anatomy, optimizing weapon control and accuracy. Three interchangeable backstrap sizes (S-M-L) and side panels, supplied with each unit, allow personnel to customize grip ergonomics to individual specifications. An integrated Picatinny rail mounted beneath the barrel facilitates rapid integration of tactical accessories such as weapon-mounted lights or laser designators. The magazine well (magwell) molded into the frame enables swift magazine changes during critical moments, while cooling channels machined into the slide minimize heat buildup during sustained fire, preserving performance consistency.
In terms of technical specifications, the SAR9 SP operates in 9×19 mm NATO caliber with semi-automatic firing capability. Muzzle velocity reaches 350 m/s, overall length measures 213 mm, and unloaded weight is 750 grams. Barrel length is 129 mm, sight radius extends to 162.8 mm, and trigger travel measures 70 mm. The pistol accepts 10-, 15-, or 17-round magazine configurations, providing flexible ammunition capacity for varied operational scenarios. These technical parameters deliver high reliability and rapid response capability for close-quarters tactical operations conducted by special operations forces.
The deployment example from Kazakhstan demonstrates growing recognition and acceptance of SARSILMAZ products within the region. Turkish defense industry has successfully achieved domestication and national production objectives in weapons systems, establishing a competitive position in international markets. Products such as the SAR9 SP exemplify this accomplishment, contributing to Turkey's expanding defense export portfolio and regional security partnerships.
