BREAKING NEWS
The 17th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2025), Türkiye’s largest defense exhibition, has officially opened its doors at the Istanbul Expo Center. The event is hosted by the Ministry of National Defense, supported by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), and organized under the management of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TAFF) by KFA Fuarcılık A.Ş. This year, TRT serves as the official communication sponsor of the fair.
IDEF 2025 brings together over 1,000 high-level foreign delegates, including ministers, deputy ministers, chiefs of general staff, and commanders from 33 countries. In addition, companies from 44 nations are participating, showcasing more than 400 cutting-edge defense products. The fair continues to be a crucial meeting point for both the Turkish and global defense industries.
The opening ceremony, held at Atatürk Airport, featured an impressive parade of land vehicles and air platforms. Simultaneously, 14 different naval platforms anchored at Ataköy Marina were presented to visitors. This year’s exhibition highlights several major participants — ASELSAN introduced nine next-generation technologies, Roketsan unveiled its strategic missile systems, and MKE announced Türkiye’s first-ever naval gun export, marking a significant milestone in the sector.
For the convenience of visitors, shuttle services are operating between the exhibition venues. A new digital platform, MEET@IDEF, has been introduced to facilitate business meetings and networking opportunities among participants. Additionally, the “Network Summit” event, scheduled for the third day of the fair, aims to bring professionals together in a more social setting.
Due to strong public interest, the duration of IDEF 2025 has been extended by two days, making it a six-day event. The final two days, Saturday and Sunday, will be open to the general public. IDEF 2025 not only showcases Türkiye’s technological advancements in the defense sector but also strengthens its position as a global hub for international cooperation.
