BREAKING NEWS
Turkey’s defense industry continues to break new ground with HAVELSAN’s ADVENT Combat Management System (CMS), a cutting-edge naval command and control technology developed entirely with national resources. The company recently announced a major contract with the Chilean Navy, under which two of Chile’s frigates will be modernized with the integration of the ADVENT system.
Experts describe this development as far more than a simple export success. According to Defense and Maritime Analyst Kozan Selçuk Erkan, ADVENT represents a leap in Turkey’s defense capabilities, showcasing the nation’s ability to produce highly advanced, network-centric warfare systems—something only a few countries in the world can achieve.
Erkan explains that ADVENT was built with the latest global technologies, capable of collecting, processing, and sharing real-time information from various platforms, including ships, aircraft, and unmanned systems. “Imagine a drone capturing live imagery that can instantly be viewed and analyzed by a naval command system. ADVENT makes this kind of seamless data sharing between air, land, and sea platforms possible,” he said. This capability gives commanders a complete, integrated operational picture, significantly enhancing situational awareness on the battlefield.
With this latest export, ADVENT has reached four continents — Asia, Europe, Africa, and South America — and nine countries in total. The system is now integrated into over 85 naval, aerial, ground, and unmanned platforms worldwide. It comes in multiple specialized versions: ADVENT SYS for naval platforms, ADVENT ROTA for unmanned systems, ADVENT MARTI for aerial operations, and ADVENT UFUK for maritime surveillance and data fusion.
Erkan emphasizes that Turkey has moved far beyond being a country that simply builds ships. “We’re now exporting the brains of those ships — the software and systems that define modern naval warfare,” he said. This achievement not only strengthens Turkey’s defense exports but also supports its “Blue Homeland” (Mavi Vatan) vision, ensuring enhanced maritime security and strategic autonomy.
With ADVENT, HAVELSAN has solidified its place among the top-tier defense technology providers globally, proving that Turkey can develop, integrate, and export sophisticated naval command systems on par with the world’s leading powers.
