BREAKING NEWS
Turkey’s next-generation naval command-and-control software, the ADVENT Combat Management System (CMS) developed by HAVELSAN, is expanding its global footprint to Latin America. Under a newly signed agreement with the Chilean Navy, two frigates in Chile’s naval inventory will be modernized with the ADVENT system. The project, scheduled for completion within four years, will see the integration of ADVENT with the ships’ existing sensors, weapons, and onboard subsystems — ensuring full compatibility without extensive structural modifications. With this deal, Chile becomes the ninth country to deploy ADVENT on its naval platforms.
Originally developed in close cooperation with the Turkish Naval Forces Command, ADVENT represents the first combat management system designed specifically for Turkey’s Navy. The system was first commissioned aboard the TCG KINALIADA corvette and has since become a cornerstone of Turkey’s digital naval transformation. Built around a network-enabled warfare architecture, ADVENT enables seamless collaboration between multiple vessels and assets in a task force, integrating data from various sensors to enhance situational awareness at the command level. It also provides advanced threat assessment, target identification, weapon and sensor control, and real-time decision support.
HAVELSAN’s ADVENT distinguishes itself with its user-friendly interface, high integration capability, and secure communication infrastructure, delivering a reliable and scalable combat management solution. The system’s modular architecture allows for the easy integration of different nations’ radars, sonar systems, electro-optics, and missile platforms — a critical feature for modernization projects like Chile’s. Once integrated, Chile’s frigates will operate with enhanced interoperability, faster reaction times, and improved multi-domain coordination capabilities.
Defense analysts highlight that this agreement demonstrates Turkey’s growing role as a global exporter of high-end defense technologies, not only providing platforms but also delivering the software backbone that enables modern naval warfare. HAVELSAN’s success with ADVENT strengthens Turkey’s position as a trusted partner in digital defense solutions and signals increasing international demand for its cutting-edge command and control systems.
