BREAKING NEWS
HAVELSAN demonstrated command control and integration capabilities for coordinated operations of unmanned naval and aerial vehicles through field activities. The demonstration integrated the USV-12 unmanned surface vessel produced by VN Marine Technologies with the SAGAN UAV developed by ASİSGUARD, establishing a platform for joint naval and aerial operations. Within the joint operations concept, the SAGAN UAV deployed on the USV-12, which conducted autonomous surface navigation, performed autonomous takeoff, deployed a 60mm mortar on designated targets, and successfully completed its mission.
HAVELSAN plays a leading role in the Turkish defense industry ecosystem in command control, mission management, and autonomous solutions. The company develops systems that enable coordinated utilization of different unmanned platform types, integrated management of operational areas, and target engagement processes under operator control. These capabilities play a critical role in the evolution of Turkish defense industry vision toward multi-domain unmanned operations, aligning with domestication and national technology development objectives.
The use of unmanned surface vehicles (USV) as part of integrated operations systems capable of coordinated mission execution with aerial assets introduces new operational capabilities on the modern battlefield. USV platforms add value to naval operations through extended mission endurance, low detectability, and autonomous navigation capabilities, while integration with aerial assets expands the mission spectrum. USVs operating with aerial systems such as SAGAN provide a synergistic approach to intelligence gathering, surveillance, and target identification missions.
NATO-standard interoperability approach is a fundamental design principle of HAVELSAN solutions. The integration of unmanned systems from different manufacturers under a common command control architecture provides operational flexibility and system scalability. This approach establishes an important reference point for Turkish defense industry in developing open-architecture systems and industry standardization. Thus, platforms procured or developed in different periods can be seamlessly coordinated under a single control center.
In the global defense industry context, integration of unmanned systems and autonomous coordination represents a focus area for advanced nations. The integration of U.S. MQ-9B Reaper and similar platforms with ammunition-carrying naval vehicles, multi-domain unmanned operations concepts of NATO countries, demonstrate that Turkey's efforts in this field are parallel to international standards. HAVELSAN's NATO-compliant solutions contribute to Turkish defense industry products achieving competitive positioning in international markets, enhancing export potential.
