BREAKING NEWS
The Turkish Ministry of National Defense (MSB) announced a new milestone in precision strike capability for the Turkish Air Force. In a statement shared on social media, the Ministry confirmed that the 181st Squadron Command, under the Air Force Command, conducted a test firing in which two AGM-65 Maverick missiles were launched simultaneously toward targets at the Karapınar Firing Range in Konya — both of which were destroyed with direct hits. The Ministry also released footage showing the successful impact of the missiles.
The AGM-65 Maverick is a precision-guided, air-to-surface missile designed for use against armored vehicles, ships, and fortified ground targets. The ability to launch two Mavericks at once and strike multiple targets simultaneously demonstrates a high level of target acquisition, coordination, and real-time guidance capability within the Turkish Air Force. It also underscores the Air Force’s operational readiness to engage multiple high-value targets in a single sortie.
This dual missile launch highlights Turkey’s growing tactical and technological competence in the field of modern aerial warfare. Simultaneous firing requires precise synchronization between pilots, targeting systems, and command control infrastructure — an achievement that reflects advanced training and integration across Air Force units.
The Ministry emphasized that such exercises are part of Turkey’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its combat readiness and deterrence capability, ensuring that the Air Force remains capable of conducting multi-target, high-precision strikes under real operational conditions.
