According to the United Nations Register of Conventional Arms (UNROCA), the Republic of Cyprus acquired multiple launch rocket systems from Serbia and light attack helicopters from France during 2025. These procurements form part of the island's broader defense modernization efforts. The weapons systems represent measures taken in response to evolving security concerns in the Eastern Mediterranean and shifting regional balances.

The Tamnava Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) is a modern fire support platform developed and manufactured by Serbia. The system is capable of firing 122 mm and 262 mm caliber ammunition and features a modular design. Equipped with an advanced Fire Control System (FCS), INS/GPS-based navigation, automatic azimuth alignment, meteorological sensors, and ballistic computer integration, the Tamnava can conduct fully autonomous missions. The platform's electronic firing system enables it to achieve combat readiness within minutes and execute pre-programmed combat scenarios with high precision. The system achieves effective ranges of 70 km for 262 mm rockets and 40 km for 122 mm rockets.

The Tamnava platform is integrated onto an 8×8 MAN TGS 41-480 truck chassis and features a two-module launch unit. Each module can carry 6 units of 262 mm or 24 units of 122 mm rockets, allowing the system to transport a total combat load of 96 122 mm or 12 262 mm rockets. Firing preparation time is approximately 180 seconds, with repositioning time of 120 seconds. The vehicle incorporates laser warning sensors, smoke dispensers, and camouflage options for active and passive protection. Operating with a three-person crew, the system's rapid repositioning capability significantly enhances crew survivability.

The H145M helicopter is developed by Airbus Helicopters and powered by two Arriel 2E engines supplied by Safran Helicopter Engines, based in France. The helicopter is equipped with full authority digital engine control (FADEC) and supported by the Helionix digital avionics system. This system provides high-stability flight characteristics and incorporates a high-performance 4-axis autopilot that reduces pilot workload. The H145M can operate as a light attack helicopter due to its modular and flexible weapons-carrying architecture. Through the HForce weapons system, it can employ both area-effect ballistic weapons and precision-guided munitions for specific targets. The platform offers comprehensive mission packages, lifting capabilities, and external cargo capacity.

The H145 helicopter family has accumulated over eight million flight hours globally and is recognized as a proven and tested platform. The first 2 helicopters were delivered to the Republic of Cyprus in March 2025, with a total of 6 aircraft planned for delivery. This procurement significantly enhances Cyprus's air operations and attack capabilities. Among regional operators of similar systems are Greece and other NATO member states.
