BREAKING NEWS
Canik will present its extensive product portfolio at the 6th Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition (ADEX 2026), scheduled for September 30-October 2, 2026, at Baku Expo Center. The Turkish defense industry leader will engage with Azerbaijani military and civilian authorities, international delegations, and industry representatives at booth 1024.
Canik has expanded its cooperation from pistols to heavy machine guns and remotely operated weapon systems. The company's 12.7 × 99 mm heavy machine guns are integrated across land, sea, and air platforms, while the Trakon Lite remotely operated weapon system, developed by Canik subsidiary Unirobotics, operates on DEARSAN-manufactured SALVO unmanned surface vessels in Azerbaijan's inventory. This integrated approach demonstrates the company's ability to provide end-to-end solutions across weapons, systems, and platform integration.
Canik holds the position of world leader in 12.7 × 99 mm heavy machine gun production with annual capacity exceeding 5,000 units. Its portfolio includes the M2 QCB (600–650 rounds per minute), M2F (900–950 rpm), M3 (1,100–1,200 rpm), and M3 FALCON for air platforms (1,200 rpm), offering users options tailored to diverse operational requirements. At ADEX 2026, the company will introduce the TRAKON Core and TRAKON Lite remotely operated weapon systems. These systems, featuring open architecture, integrate readily with land and sea platforms.
Medium-caliber systems represent a near-term priority for Canik in the Azerbaijan market. The 30 × 113 mm VENOM LR low-recoil gun, with its lightweight and compact design, enhances firepower for manned and unmanned land, sea, and air platforms. Characterized by low energy consumption and adjustable rate of fire, it serves both new platform projects and modernization of existing inventory. Canik UK (AEI Systems) medium-caliber expertise, combined with the TRAKON Core 30 remotely operated weapon system produced by Canik Robotics (Unirobotics) and high-volume production capacity, targets annual medium-caliber gun production exceeding 400 units from 2027 onward.
Canik Board Member Didem Aral emphasized that Turkey-Azerbaijan relations are shaped by the "One nation, two states" principle and that defense industry cooperation forms the foundation of this relationship. Aral expressed satisfaction that Canik products serve in various units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces and contribute to the nation's defense capabilities. She noted that medium-caliber systems will play a significant role in coming periods and that products from Canik UK facilities in the United Kingdom will be incorporated into future projects.
