BEST Grup, a Türkiye-based company operating in armoring and defence technologies, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Italy-based military vehicle engineering company Base Studio. The agreement was signed during a ceremony held at the Base Studio stand at the SAHA 2026 International Defence, Aerospace and Space Industry Fair, hosted by the Istanbul Expo Center.
The memorandum of understanding signed between the two companies covers cooperation in defence technologies, military vehicle engineering, next-generation armored vehicle designs and vehicle design. Under the agreement, BEST Grup and Base Studio are expected to work together on new-generation vehicle concepts, engineering solutions and product development processes aimed at international markets. The partnership aims to develop solutions that respond directly to the operational needs of end users while increasing export-oriented defence projects.
Speaking at the ceremony, Tera Holding Chairman Emre Tezmen said Türkiye has become more than a country that only meets its own defence needs. He emphasized that Türkiye has turned into a strong production hub that attracts global attention with the technologies it develops. Tezmen noted that the strategic cooperation between BEST Grup and Base Studio is an important indicator of the level reached by Turkish engineering.
Tezmen stated that the partnership will combine Türkiye’s domestic production strength with an international engineering vision to develop next-generation technologies. He underlined that every strong step taken in the defence industry contributes to Türkiye’s independent production capacity and national technology vision. According to Tezmen, the agreement will help create stronger solutions in terms of security, durability and operational efficiency, especially in the fields of armored platforms and military vehicle design.
The cooperation will not be limited to technical design and engineering activities. The two companies also plan to work together on products targeting global markets. Through this collaboration, new defence products that can contribute to Türkiye’s defence industry exports are expected to be introduced to international customers. Solutions shaped according to end-user requirements will be designed with the flexibility to meet different operational needs in various regions.
Base Studio Chairman Mehmet Remzi Oduncu also expressed his satisfaction with working alongside BEST Grup. Oduncu said they are proud to support BEST Grup with their wide product range and believe the cooperation will generate long-term and productive results. He also stated that they aim to showcase the new products developed through this partnership at the next SAHA event.
The cooperation agreement between BEST Grup and Base Studio is seen as an important step supporting Türkiye’s goal of expanding in armoring technologies, military vehicle design and defence engineering through international partnerships. Announced at SAHA 2026, the strategic collaboration highlights how domestic production capabilities can be combined with global engineering experience to create next-generation defence vehicle solutions.
