BREAKING NEWS
The MIZRAK Smart Loitering Munition System, developed nationally and originally by Baykar, is set to make its first public appearance at SAHA 2026. Designed in line with the evolving requirements of the modern battlefield, the system stands out with its long range, high strike power, autonomous mission capability and flexible structure adaptable to different operational scenarios. With its ground-to-ground deep operation capability, MIZRAK is expected to serve as a strategic force multiplier, particularly in cross-border missions.
Taking its name from its spear-like aerodynamic structure and high target destruction capability, the munition is offered in two main configurations. The 40-kilogram dual-warhead variant provides high explosive power, while the single-warhead version is equipped with a Radio Frequency seeker in addition to a 20-kilogram explosive payload. This enables MIZRAK to conduct precise target detection and adapt to different target profiles depending on the mission type. The system, which has a 4-meter wingspan, also offers reconnaissance and surveillance capability with electro-optical or infrared camera options.
MIZRAK can take off from conventional runways with its standard landing gear. In addition, thanks to its rocket-assisted take-off option, it can operate from unprepared areas or challenging terrain conditions. This feature increases the system’s operational flexibility and enables rapid deployment in different geographical environments. Its ability to perform not only strike missions but also long-endurance surveillance and target confirmation tasks makes it a multipurpose platform.
One of the most remarkable capabilities of the system is its ability to operate independently of GPS signals. Equipped with an AI-supported autopilot and optical guidance systems, MIZRAK can perform fully autonomous missions in complex operational environments. Thanks to sensor fusion support and onboard visual positioning capability, the system can locate its target even in areas where electronic warfare elements are intense or GPS signals are denied. Anti-jamming systems also stand out as critical components that enhance the munition’s operational security.
Through the digital data and video link developed by Baykar, MIZRAK can maintain communication with Bayraktar TB2, Bayraktar TB3 and AKINCI unmanned aerial vehicles, making it compatible with the network-centric warfare concept. In addition to a line-of-sight communication range exceeding 80 kilometers, the system can be integrated into a communication network beyond range limits with optional satellite communication support. This capability provides a significant advantage in real-time information sharing and target engagement, especially during joint operations.
With a maximum take-off weight of 200 kilograms, MIZRAK can reach a maximum speed of approximately 185 kilometers per hour and operate at a service ceiling of 10,000 feet. Combining a 40-kilogram payload capacity, an operational range exceeding 1,000 kilometers and an endurance of up to 7 hours, the system brings long-range surveillance and immediate strike capability together on a single platform. MIZRAK, which will be unveiled for the first time at SAHA 2026, is expected to carry the Turkish defense industry’s competence in smart munition technologies to a new level.
