BREAKING NEWS
ASELSAN, one of Türkiye’s leading defense companies, has officially delivered its 40mm Şahin Physical Destruction System to security forces, enhancing protection against mini and micro unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). İsmail Demir, President of the Defense Industries Presidency, confirmed that the system has now entered active service. With its portable design and rapid deployment capability, Şahin offers critical advantages for a wide range of operational scenarios.
During development, the system successfully neutralized both rotary-wing and fixed-wing UAVs. These achievements are symbolized by the markings engraved on its weapon turret. Integrated onto a trailer, Şahin employs a 40mm grenade launcher that fires high-speed smart munitions to destroy aerial threats effectively.
Equipped with a remote-control feature, Şahin allows operators to manage the system from a safe distance. Its advanced electro-optical cameras enable automatic target detection and tracking, while its 700-meter effective range ensures precision in both day and night operations—even under harsh weather conditions.
With a 64-round ammunition capacity, Şahin is designed for sustained missions, offering strong deterrence. It is expected to play a vital role in critical facility protection, border security, and air defense missions. This innovative addition significantly enhances Türkiye’s defense against asymmetric aerial threats, reinforcing national security capabilities.
