BREAKING NEWS
ASELSAN, Türkiye’s leading defense electronics company, has taken a major step forward in the nation’s air defense modernization efforts. The company announced through a public disclosure on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) that it has signed new contracts with the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB). These agreements, valued at €1,122,139,260 in total, will serve as an expansion of the country’s ongoing serial-production air defense system programs.
According to ASELSAN’s statement, the newly signed contracts envision deliveries between 2027 and 2030, reflecting a long-term commitment to strengthening Türkiye’s layered air defense architecture. The emphasis on “additional” serial-production projects suggests not only the continuation but also the scaling up of previously initiated air defense initiatives. This includes increased production capacity, broader system deployment and enhanced integration with existing command-and-control and sensor infrastructures.
Türkiye has been investing heavily in its national air defense capabilities in recent years, covering a wide spectrum ranging from low- to high-altitude systems, advanced radar technologies, sensor suites and command-and-control networks. ASELSAN plays a central role in this ecosystem, serving as the primary developer of many indigenous air defense components. With the signing of these new agreements, the company is expected to further reinforce Türkiye’s self-reliant defense posture, while also expanding its technological depth in advanced weapon systems.
Beyond the military implications, the €1.1 billion value of the contracts will also strengthen ASELSAN’s financial outlook. Long-term delivery schedules contribute to predictable revenue flow, bolster the company’s order backlog and generate sustained activity across Türkiye’s defense industry supply chain. The project is also expected to create additional opportunities for local subcontractors and high-technology manufacturers, supporting national employment and innovation.
Overall, the agreements represent a strategic investment in both Türkiye’s military readiness and its domestic defense industry capabilities. By broadening the scope of air defense production, ASELSAN and SSB are laying the groundwork for a more resilient, technologically advanced and export-competitive air defense infrastructure.
