BREAKING NEWS
ASELSAN shared test footage of its KORKUT 25 UAV Countermeasure System with the public. During the conducted tests, the system successfully neutralized rotary-wing drone platforms and delta-wing UAV types. Equipped with particle-effect ATOM 25 ammunition, KORKUT 25 is outfitted with artificial intelligence-supported detection and identification capabilities. Test footage clearly demonstrated the vehicle's ability to conduct fire while in motion.
ASELSAN stands as a leading organization in Turkish defense industry, developing high-technology products in radar, electronic warfare, communications, and weapons systems. Since its establishment in 1975, the company has produced numerous critical systems to meet the requirements of the Turkish Armed Forces. KORKUT 25 represents one of ASELSAN's latest-generation solutions against modern UAV threats and has been designed as a platform with high localization rate.
The KORKUT 25 system is equipped with gyro-stabilized construction, remote command capability, high-resolution infrared cameras, laser rangefinder, and automatic target detection-tracking functions. The system possesses high firing accuracy through advanced automatic ballistic calculation. KORKUT 25 can be mounted on 4×4, 6×6, and 8×8 wheeled or tracked vehicles and has been designed to operate under all combat conditions. Comprehensive surveillance, integration with external sensors, and remote control capabilities enhance operator situational awareness while significantly reducing vulnerabilities from UAV-based attacks.
The sectoral significance of KORKUT 25 lies in Turkish defense industry's development of indigenous solutions against mini and micro UAV threats. In contemporary operational environments, UAVs have become a critical threat element. KORKUT 25 provides mobile units with moving-platform UAV detection and neutralization capability, strengthening the Turkish Armed Forces' operational capacity. The system operates in integration with ASELSAN AURA radar, automating the entire process from target detection to neutralization.
KORKUT 25 was first introduced at SAHA EXPO 2024, followed by live-fire tests conducted in Turkey in April 2026 with participation from over 100 senior delegations from 15 different countries. These tests demonstrated all operational capabilities of the system in real-world scenarios. Its towed variant was first exhibited during IDEF'25. Among global counterparts, systems such as Israel's Iron Dome and the United States' NASAMS represent comparable air defense platforms. When compared to these systems, KORKUT 25 offers superior mobility as a mobile platform and specialized design advantages against mini UAVs.
