The Albanian Armed Forces have significantly boosted their capabilities with the addition of Bayraktar TB2 Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), one of Türkiye’s most renowned defense technologies. According to Baykar CEO Haluk Bayraktar, the TB2s officially entered Albania’s inventory and successfully carried out their first flights in Albanian airspace. This milestone coincided with the inauguration of Kuçova Air Base, Albania’s first NATO Tactical Air Base.
In his statement, Haluk Bayraktar emphasized that the induction of the TB2 UAVs marked Albania’s acquisition of its first NATO-standard aerial platform. He credited this achievement to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the strong collaboration of Defense Minister Niko Peleshi. Bayraktar further highlighted that this step represents not only a historic day for Albania but also the beginning of a new era for the security of the Balkans and Europe as a whole.
With its innovative technologies, Baykar continues its mission of contributing to regional and global security. The delivery of the TB2s to Albania is seen as a strategic move that strengthens both Albania’s defense capabilities and the overall security architecture of the Balkans. Additionally, Prime Minister Rama and Defense Minister Peleshi celebrated the induction of the UAVs through social media posts, underscoring their importance for the country’s defense.
By adding Bayraktar TB2s to its arsenal, Albania has taken a decisive step toward modernizing its armed forces in line with NATO standards. The deployment of these UAVs not only enhances deterrence in the Balkans but also provides a strategic contribution to European security.
