BREAKING NEWS
Turkey’s globally renowned defense technology firm Baykar has successfully launched the next-generation Bayraktar TB2T-AI, a new variant of its iconic armed unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) series. Conducting its flight tests in Keşan, Edirne, the TB2T-AI represents a major technological leap forward with its turbo engine, enhanced altitude performance, and triple artificial intelligence (AI) computer system that empowers advanced autonomous flight capabilities.
According to Baykar’s official statement, the TB2T-AI UAV climbed to 30,318 feet, breaking its own altitude record. The drone’s turbo engine allows it to reach 30,000 feet in under 30 minutes, while sustaining a top speed of 160 knots (approximately 300 km/h)—making it one of the fastest and most powerful UAVs in its class. With improved endurance and altitude stability, the TB2T-AI enhances air dominance and extends operational range in complex mission environments.
Equipped with three integrated AI processors, the Bayraktar TB2T-AI offers next-level autonomous capabilities. Its visual navigation system allows it to recognize terrain, determine direction, and autonomously calculate the most optimal flight routes. Furthermore, the system can identify and classify targets, recognize runways for autonomous takeoff and landing, and adapt dynamically to changing mission conditions. Even in highly contested electronic warfare (EW) environments, the AI ensures resilient and precise operation.
Featuring increased takeoff weight and enhanced payload capacity, the TB2T-AI can stay airborne longer and perform more complex missions. Its AI-assisted emergency management system enables safe return-to-base operations under any malfunction or combat stress, maximizing mission safety and survivability.
Combining turbo propulsion, advanced AI, and dynamic flight planning, the Bayraktar TB2T-AI marks a new era in UAV evolution—not just for Turkey’s defense industry, but for global unmanned systems technology. It stands as a testament to Baykar’s continued innovation in autonomous aerial warfare.
