BREAKING NEWS
One of Türkiye’s leading defense industry companies, ROKETSAN, participated in the World Defense Show 2026, held in Riyad, with a wide range of advanced missile and ammunition systems. Alongside many well-known platforms, ROKETSAN introduced its newest solution, the High-Speed Multi-Purpose Loitering Munition EREN, to the international defense community for the very first time.
Developed in less than a year, EREN was rapidly advanced from the concept phase to an operational battlefield capability. The munition recently completed a successful live-fire test launched from the Bayraktar AKINCI unmanned combat aerial vehicle. According to company officials, EREN is expected to enter mass production within 2026, signaling its imminent deployment for operational use.
EREN stands out with its multi-platform compatibility, as it can be launched from UCAVs, helicopters, ground vehicles, land-based systems, and naval platforms. Designed to engage slow-moving aerial targets, armored and unarmored ground threats, as well as anti-personnel missions, the munition offers an operational range exceeding 100 kilometers. Its long endurance and advanced guidance system allow it to loiter in the operational area and strike targets with high precision when required.
ROKETSAN General Manager Murat İkinci emphasized that EREN was developed as a cost-effective yet highly versatile solution. He noted that the munition significantly enhances the strike capability of Turkish UCAVs while also opening new operational possibilities for unmanned ground vehicles, armored platforms, and potentially aircraft and short-range air defense systems. Featuring artificial intelligence-supported algorithms, advanced sensors, and a turbojet engine, EREN represents a new technological segment for Türkiye’s defense industry.
With its speed, range, and adaptability, EREN is expected to strengthen the capabilities of the Turkish Armed Forces and allied nations, further reinforcing Türkiye’s position in the global defense market.
