BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye’s defense industry continues its global rise with a new export success story. Best Grup, a leading manufacturer specializing in armored vehicles and security solutions, has achieved its first international sale of the TOSUN Armored Utility Vehicle and Armored Mini Loader to a Gulf nation. The deal marks an important milestone, showcasing the growing global demand for Türkiye’s indigenous land systems.
Developed entirely with domestic engineering and manufacturing, the TOSUN is a remotely operated, unmanned armored vehicle designed to perform hazardous tasks while keeping operators at a safe distance. Equipped with hydraulic lifting and digging systems, the vehicle can remove barricades, clear improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and create safe passageways for military and police units in urban or conflict zones. Its ballistic protection, mine-resistant structure, and high-torque engine allow it to perform reliably under extreme operational conditions.
The vehicle can also be fitted with remote-controlled weapon systems featuring 7.62 mm or 12.7 mm machine guns, and a gas grenade launcher for crowd control or defensive operations. Originally developed in just 90 days, TOSUN’s first prototype quickly proved itself in the field, leading to mass production and strong domestic demand. To date, Best Grup has delivered over 280 armored engineering vehicles with a combined operational time exceeding 400,000 hours.
Complementing TOSUN, the Armored Mini Loader is optimized for operations in narrow urban areas and confined spaces. Its compact size, high maneuverability, and strong armor protection make it ideal for security forces operating in dense environments. With seven interchangeable attachments—including a loader bucket, breaker, grab, sweeper blade, and a three-person armored shield—the vehicle provides versatile mission capability in counter-terrorism, urban security, and post-disaster recovery operations.
Best Grup CEO Caner Buğday emphasized that these vehicles were designed to meet the real-world needs of Türkiye’s security forces, saying: “We focused on developing vehicles that enhance operational flexibility while keeping operators safe. Their success in domestic operations paved the way for our first export, which we see as a testament to Turkish engineering excellence.”
The export of TOSUN represents a strategic milestone for Türkiye’s land defense industry, positioning the country as an emerging supplier of specialized armored utility vehicles in global markets. With growing interest from international clients, Türkiye’s locally engineered systems are now making their mark well beyond national borders.
