Turkey has marked another milestone in its domestic missile programs as the TAYFUN long-range missile achieved a direct hit during its latest acceptance firing test. Developed by ROKETSAN, TAYFUN stands out with its extended range, high precision, and powerful strike capabilities—features that significantly enhance Türkiye’s strategic deterrence capacity. According to the official statement, the missile flawlessly hit the predetermined target coordinates, demonstrating the system’s operational maturity.
In its announcement, ROKETSAN emphasized that TAYFUN represents “the strong guarantee of Türkiye’s deterrence with its long range.” The company highlighted the missile’s precision-strike capability and superior performance, stressing that domestically developed systems such as TAYFUN will continue to strengthen the Turkish Armed Forces both operationally and strategically. This successful test once again showcases Türkiye’s rapidly advancing expertise in missile technologies.
ROKETSAN General Manager Murat İkinci also shared a statement, describing TAYFUN as a key element of Türkiye’s strategic strike capabilities. He noted that they are rapidly increasing the strategic stockpile of TAYFUN missiles for the Turkish Armed Forces. İkinci underscored that the expansion of locally developed missile systems contributes to the country’s defense autonomy while enhancing operational flexibility and independence in the field.
The flawless performance exhibited by TAYFUN in this test is viewed as a testament to the technological progress achieved by the Turkish defense industry. With long-range, high-precision missile systems like TAYFUN entering the inventory, the deterrence posture of the Turkish Armed Forces is expected to rise significantly. Further tests and expanded operational scenarios for TAYFUN are anticipated in the coming period.
