BREAKING NEWS
The Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TSKGV), one of the key institutions driving the development of Turkey’s national defense industry, has announced that it allocated 71 million Turkish lira to the Defense Industry Support Fund (SSDF) in 2017. Established in 1987, TSKGV has played an essential role in financing strategic defense projects, and with this latest contribution, the foundation’s total financial support transferred through the SSDF over the past 30 years has reached 770 million TL. This long-term investment reflects Turkey’s determination to strengthen its military capabilities through domestic technological advancements.
TSKGV continues to expand its financial capacity thanks to the rising performance of its affiliated defense companies and the ongoing support of public donations. The foundation revealed that it plans to allocate over 100 million TL to Turkish Armed Forces modernization projects in 2018. This sustained funding mechanism ensures the steady development of critical technologies, high-end weapon systems, and indigenous platforms needed by the Turkish Armed Forces.
The foundation emphasized that all revenues generated from its subsidiaries are reinvested in the national defense ecosystem. These subsidiaries—ASELSAN, TUSAŞ, ROKETSAN, HAVELSAN, İŞBİR, ASPİLSAN, and others—form the backbone of Turkey’s defense industry. The profits obtained from their operations are utilized to support R&D, strengthen industrial capabilities, and reduce foreign dependency in key components and subsystems.
The financial contributions managed by TSKGV are seen as a strategic pillar of Turkey’s long-term defense vision. The supported projects not only enhance the operational capacity and deterrence of the Turkish Armed Forces but also contribute to industrial growth, technological innovation, and employment within the defense sector. As Turkey expands its global defense footprint, TSKGV’s role as a central funding engine remains crucial for sustaining the momentum of national defense programs.
