BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye continues to strengthen its position in aviation not only through advanced platforms but also by deepening its capabilities in engine and power systems. Operating at the core of this transformation, TRMOTOR focuses on developing sustainable, indigenous, and high-technology propulsion and power solutions for air platforms. From unmanned aerial vehicles to helicopters, trainer aircraft, and fifth-generation fighter jets, the company plays a key role in reducing external dependency in critical engine technologies.
Founded in 2017, TRMOTOR entered a new phase after 2021, rapidly expanding its expertise in gas turbine engine technologies. One of the company’s most critical contributions is in the development of Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) and Air Turbine Starter (ATS) systems for Türkiye’s fifth-generation national combat aircraft, KAAN. These systems provide electrical and pneumatic power before the main engine starts, enabling independent and faster ground operations while enhancing mission readiness.
A major milestone is the development of APU-60, Türkiye’s first domestically designed auxiliary power unit, with initial integration planned for 2026. In parallel, TRMOTOR is also working on the APU-40 model, aimed at both fixed-wing and rotary-wing platforms, further expanding indigenous solutions in this critical subsystem area. On the main engine side, TRMOTOR signed a consortium agreement with TEI for the development of the TF35000 engine, envisioned as the heart of the KAAN fighter, marking a decisive step toward high-thrust national engine capability.
Beyond product development, TRMOTOR contributes significantly to Türkiye’s national engine test infrastructure through facilities established in Ankara, Eskişehir, and Kocaeli. Supported by strong university–industry collaborations, these test and validation ecosystems aim to increase system reliability, shorten development cycles, and ensure compliance with international aviation standards. With a strong emphasis on quality, testing, and certification at every stage, TRMOTOR continues to position itself as a strategic enabler of Türkiye’s independent and sustainable aviation engine ecosystem.
