Teknopark Istanbul, one of Turkey’s leading technology development zones, has entered into a strategic partnership with ULAK Communication Inc., a pioneer in national communication technologies. Signed during IDEF 2025, the agreement aims to integrate ULAK’s locally developed Private 5G infrastructure into Teknopark Istanbul’s digital transformation process, enabling the creation of a smart campus ecosystem.
Under the protocol, ULAK’s locally produced Private 5G technology will be actively used across Teknopark Istanbul’s R&D, entrepreneurship, and production processes. The high-speed, low-latency, and secure communication infrastructure will make operations across the campus more efficient, interconnected, and innovative. This collaboration marks an important step toward establishing a fully integrated and data-driven innovation environment.
The partnership will offer significant added value to firms operating in critical sectors such as defense, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, aerospace, and advanced materials. Private 5G will play a key role in areas such as prototyping, testing, laboratory integration, and data security. Additionally, innovative applications like smart building systems, sensor-based security solutions, autonomous transport systems, and video analytics will be deployed over the local 5G network.
Teknopark Istanbul General Manager Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Akyol stated, “Through our strategic cooperation with ULAK Communication, we are bringing to life a smart campus ecosystem powered by a local Private 5G infrastructure.” ULAK Communication General Manager Ruşen Kömürcü expressed pride in activating national 5G networks in such a major technology hub, emphasizing that the project will set an example for other technology parks, industrial clusters, and university campuses.
This strategic step not only reinforces Turkey’s leadership in local 5G technologies but also marks a milestone in advancing the nation’s digital transformation vision on a global scale.
