BREAKING NEWS
TAYFUN Block-2, the advanced version of Türkiye’s domestically developed long-range missile system, has officially entered the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces. Developed by ROKETSAN with national engineering capabilities, the delivery of the system marks a major milestone for Türkiye’s strategic deterrence and long-range precision strike capacity.
TAYFUN Block-2 stands out as one of the most important examples of Türkiye’s progress in missile technologies. Developed with domestic engineering and national technology infrastructure, the system is designed to provide long-range strike capability against strategic targets. With its entry into service, the Turkish Armed Forces’ ability to respond effectively to distant threats has been raised to a higher level.
ROKETSAN described TAYFUN Block-2 as Türkiye’s power and assurance at long range. The company emphasized that the delivery further strengthens the country’s deterrent force and wished the system success in service with the Turkish military. This statement underlines the strategic importance of the missile not only as a weapon system but also as a symbol of Türkiye’s growing defence industry capabilities.
ROKETSAN General Manager Murat İkinci also commented on the delivery, stating that TAYFUN Block-2 will make a critical contribution to the striking power of the Turkish Armed Forces. He noted that the system was developed with domestic and national engineering capabilities and congratulated all personnel who contributed to the project. His remarks highlight the importance of TAYFUN as part of Türkiye’s broader vision for independent defence technologies.
Long-range missile systems are among the most critical elements of modern deterrence architecture. The entry of TAYFUN Block-2 into the inventory strengthens Türkiye’s land-based long-range precision strike capability and enhances its ability to respond rapidly and effectively to strategic targets. Such systems provide not only direct firepower but also a powerful deterrent effect against potential threats.
The delivery of TAYFUN Block-2 is also significant for Türkiye’s goal of reducing foreign dependence in missile and rocket technologies. Developed through national engineering expertise, the system demonstrates that critical technologies can be designed, produced and delivered according to the operational needs of the Turkish Armed Forces. In this respect, TAYFUN Block-2 represents an important gain for Türkiye’s strategic independence.
ROKETSAN’s missile, rocket and munition systems developed in recent years have significantly increased the operational effectiveness of the Turkish Armed Forces across different mission areas. Within this product family, TAYFUN Block-2 holds a special place due to its long-range strike capability. Its entry into service is expected to further strengthen the Turkish military’s striking power, deterrence and strategic reaction capacity.
This achievement is considered one of the concrete results of Türkiye’s National Technology Initiative in the defence industry. The delivery of TAYFUN Block-2 not only increases Türkiye’s readiness against current threats but also shows that long-range precision strike capabilities required for future battlefields can be developed with national resources. This historic step reflects the level reached by the Turkish defence industry in missile technologies and marks a new phase in Türkiye’s deterrent power.
