BREAKING NEWS
The Defense Industry Agency is hosting a sector meeting to reassess the Turkish defense ecosystem's supply chain, production capabilities, and financial structure. Over three days, the program will review outcomes from the first meeting held two years ago while reconsidering rapid technological change, agile production approaches, supply network strengthening, sustainable production models, and financial sharing mechanisms. Approximately 1,000 B2B meetings are planned during the event.
This platform, established within the Defense Industry Agency, is designed to guide the strategic development of Turkey's defense industrial ecosystem. Under the leadership of Haluk Görgün, the SSB and its relevant deputy directorates and department heads have developed rapid solutions in human resources development, financial management, export processes, and payment digitalization. This institutional structure enables the sector to respond dynamically and promptly to industry needs.
The 209 companies participating in the event include general managers of prime contractors, deputy general managers responsible for procurement, and SMEs serving as first-tier subcontractors to prime contractors. Topics to be addressed include supply chain strengthening, development of agile production capabilities, creation of sustainable and resilient production structures, financial burden management, enhancement of human resources quality, and improvement of export and contract processes. This comprehensive agenda ensures that operational and strategic challenges facing the Turkish defense sector are addressed comprehensively.
The outputs of the first sector meeting were transformed into a strategic roadmap under SSB coordination and implemented. Görgün noted that significant progress has been made over the past two years in human resources development, converting skilled talent into competency, managing financial burdens, and digitizing payment processes. The dynamic nature of the sector and increasing technological depth have further emphasized the importance of such periodic meetings. Turkish defense industry operates within a structure requiring intensive labor and dedication at every level, from design through prototype development, serial production, and testing phases.
Supply chain management, agile manufacturing methodologies, and financial optimization are among the priority topics for advanced nations in the global defense sector. Turkish companies producing in compliance with NATO standards have gained international competitive advantage in developing reliable products under varying climatic and environmental conditions. The transformation of the conclusion statement prepared at the end of the event into a strategic roadmap and its implementation will further strengthen the sector's export potential and preference by allied nations.
