Turkey’s leading defense manufacturer, ROKETSAN, continues to expand its international collaborations. Speaking at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2025, ROKETSAN General Manager Murat İkinci announced that the company had signed an agreement with Indonesia to establish a joint production facility. The forum, held under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and hosted by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, once again underscored Turkey’s growing influence in diplomacy and defense cooperation.
İkinci emphasized that the forum serves as an important platform for strengthening international defense relations, bringing together heads of state and defense ministers from around the world. “In the coming period, we aim to accelerate international cooperation to boost Turkey’s defense exports. Our joint production project with Indonesia is a major step toward that goal,” he said.
The agreement, signed with an Indonesian defense company, includes the production of anti-ship missiles, cruise missiles, and various smart munition systems. It also focuses on technology transfer, training programs for local engineers and technicians, and the development of Indonesia’s defense infrastructure. This collaboration is expected to strengthen Indonesia’s domestic capabilities while helping Turkey expand its production capacity and export potential on the global stage.
İkinci noted that Turkey’s defense partnerships go beyond simple product sales, highlighting a model based on co-development and shared technology. “Turkey offers not just defense products, but also the opportunity to jointly develop technology with friendly and allied nations,” he stated. This approach allows Turkey to establish deeper strategic ties while fostering mutual technological growth.
With this strategic move, ROKETSAN and Indonesia are poised to create a new hub for defense technology and production in the Asia-Pacific region, further cementing Turkey’s role as a key player in the global defense industry.
