BREAKING NEWS
ROKETSAN, one of the leading companies in Türkiye’s defense industry, has announced that the serial production and delivery process of the TAYFUN ballistic missile and SOM cruise missile is continuing in line with the planned schedule. In a statement shared on the company’s social media account, it was emphasized that work continues without interruption at every stage, from production to final delivery. The message underlined that both missile systems are among the critical assets enhancing the field deterrence capability of the Turkish Armed Forces.
ROKETSAN General Manager Murat İkinci also stated that the serial production and delivery of these systems, which bear the signature of Turkish engineering at every stage from design to manufacturing, are being maintained steadily. This statement once again highlighted the level of continuity and operational maturity Türkiye has achieved in domestically developed defense systems. Features such as high precision, rapid mission readiness, and flexible deployment in the field stand out as the key advantages of these next-generation missile systems.
The TAYFUN ballistic missile has been developed as a system capable of creating significant impact against deep targets. Its ability to become launch-ready in a short time, rapidly shift firepower to different operational areas, and provide logistical advantages makes it an important force multiplier on the battlefield. In addition, its high resilience in electronic warfare environments, particularly its resistance to global positioning system jamming, makes it even more notable. Reaching hypersonic speed levels during flight, TAYFUN is less vulnerable to air defense threats and offers a highly effective solution against critical targets thanks to its precision strike capability.
Regarded as Türkiye’s longest-range ballistic missile produced with national resources, TAYFUN is designed to be effective against air defense missile systems, command and control centers, military aircraft hangars, critical military facilities, and other strategic targets. On the other hand, the SOM cruise missile stands out as a major strike asset capable of engaging heavily protected land targets and moving naval targets from beyond the range of enemy air defense systems. With a range of 250 kilometers and various configurations equipped with different warheads and systems, SOM can be used on both manned and unmanned aerial platforms. Its ability to engage fixed land targets, surface targets, strategic facilities, shelters, air defense batteries, and naval platforms makes it a crucial component of Türkiye’s precision strike capability. The continuation of SOM deliveries is therefore seen as another important step in strengthening the country’s advanced operational firepower.
