BREAKING NEWS
Bayraktar KIZILELMA, Türkiye’s pioneering unmanned fighter aircraft, has successfully passed another critical stage in its flight test program. Designed as the country’s first UCAV capable of conducting air-to-air engagements, KIZILELMA once again took to the skies as part of the “Mid-Altitude System Identification and Performance Test.” Lifting off the runway smoothly, the aircraft demonstrated its aerodynamic stability, system integration accuracy and overall performance across medium altitude flight parameters. The impressive moments from the test were recorded by BAYRAKTAR AKINCI, which accompanied KIZILELMA during the mission.
Selçuk Bayraktar, Chief Technology Officer of Baykar, shared footage of the test on his Nsosyal account with the caption “Hard to restrain,” symbolizing the platform’s powerful maneuvering abilities and combat potential. The KIZILELMA test campaign continues to progress precisely on schedule, with each flight providing valuable data for fine-tuning the aircraft’s final configuration.
KIZILELMA is being developed not only for air-to-ground missions but also for autonomous air-to-air combat through advanced artificial intelligence capabilities. Its sophisticated avionics architecture, sensor fusion systems and compatibility with smart munitions position it as a next-generation platform capable of enhancing air superiority operations. The aircraft aims to operate in coordination with manned fighter jets, providing tactical decision support and independent threat engagement when required.
One of the aircraft’s most significant capabilities is its ability to take off and land on short-deck vessels. This feature will allow Türkiye to deploy combat airpower from naval platforms such as amphibious assault ships, significantly expanding operational range and strategic flexibility in overseas missions. The KIZILELMA program is expected to play a vital role in both naval operations across the Blue Homeland and high-intensity missions beyond Türkiye’s borders.
With each successful test, Bayraktar KIZILELMA strengthens Türkiye’s position in the global unmanned combat aircraft arena. The program is progressing exactly as planned, representing a major step forward in the nation’s defense technology advancement and its vision of fully autonomous aerial warfare capabilities.
