BREAKING NEWS
One of the most prominent new projects of Türkiye’s defense industry, the EREN High-Speed Multi-Purpose Loitering Munition, is approaching operational deployment. ROKETSAN CEO Murat İkinci stated during the 5th Global Strategies Conference on Defense and Aerospace Industry held in Antalya that EREN has completed its rapid development phase and will enter serial production within the year.
According to İkinci, EREN was designed as a highly flexible and cost-effective munition capable of engaging air-to-ground, ground-to-ground, and selected aerial targets. Equipped with advanced artificial intelligence algorithms, modern flight control sensors, and a turbojet propulsion system, EREN represents a new segment in loitering munitions by combining high speed with multi-platform compatibility. This capability is expected to significantly enhance the strike power of unmanned systems while maintaining affordability.
Recent test firings, including launches from the Bayraktar AKINCI unmanned aerial vehicle, were reported to be fully successful. These tests followed numerous earlier trials that were not publicly disclosed. ROKETSAN officials emphasized that integration efforts are ongoing for a wide range of platforms, including unmanned ground vehicles, armored vehicles, fixed launch systems, and potentially manned aircraft and close-range air defense systems.
Murat İkinci also highlighted ROKETSAN’s intensive research, development, and testing activities, noting that engineering teams spent hundreds of days in the field during 2025 alone. This accelerated development cycle enabled EREN to move swiftly from concept to an operational strike asset. Once serial production begins, EREN is expected to strengthen the capabilities of the Turkish Armed Forces and allied nations using Turkish platforms, while also reinforcing Türkiye’s growing position in the global defense export market.
