A new milestone in aerospace and defense cooperation was marked at the World Defense Show in Riyadh, where EDGE Group from the United Arab Emirates and Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This strategic agreement aims to integrate EDGE’s advanced payloads and sensors into TUSAŞ platforms, strengthening both companies’ positions in the global aerospace sector.
The cooperation is not limited to product integration. Both sides will work together on Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) solutions, as well as explore opportunities in technology transfer (TOT), system integration, and joint production. These initiatives are expected to provide both companies with a competitive edge not only regionally but also on the global stage.
Khaled Al Zaabi, President of Platforms & Systems at EDGE Group, emphasized that the partnership with TUSAŞ would reinforce Türkiye’s defense industry ecosystem while showcasing EDGE’s advanced technological capabilities, developed despite the company’s relatively young age. He noted that this collaboration highlights EDGE’s growing global appeal as a trusted defense and technology partner.
Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil, President and CEO of TUSAŞ, expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, stating that the cooperation would benefit both companies and could expand further in the coming years. He underlined that this MoU symbolizes a long-term commitment to advancing aerospace technologies together.
This cooperation between EDGE and TUSAŞ is regarded as a significant step in strengthening Türkiye-UAE defense relations, opening new avenues for joint innovation and production in the aerospace industry.
