BREAKING NEWS
CTech, a subsidiary of TUSAŞ, played a significant role during the TURNAs 2026 Unmanned Maritime Systems Exercise held in Antalya between October 19–27, 2026, by providing satellite and line-of-sight communication technologies. The company integrated its proprietary communication solutions into various unmanned platforms participating in the exercise, enabling remote operation and data transmission capabilities.
CTech specializes in satellite and line-of-sight communication technologies for the defense and aerospace sectors. Operating within TUSAŞ, the company plays a critical role in strengthening communication infrastructure within the Turkish defense industrial ecosystem. The company's previous projects include communication integration for various unmanned systems, aerial platforms, and maritime vessels. Its participation in the exercise demonstrates its technological capacity and position within the sector.
During the exercise, TUSAŞ's AKSUNGUR and ANKA unmanned aerial vehicles utilized the SkyARX Satellite Communication Terminal. Maritime unmanned systems operated by ARES ULAQ, HAVELSAN SANCAR, and DEARSAN SALVO were equipped with the AquaARX Satellite Communication Terminal, while SEFİNE's RD 25 unmanned maritime vehicle employed the SkyARX E-Ku next-generation electronically scanned satellite communication antenna. For line-of-sight communications, the AKSUNGUR unmanned aerial vehicle, along with HAVELSAN's BARKAN and TEKATRON's PALEM unmanned ground vehicles, utilized the UfukLink Mini Pro system. These solutions enabled beyond-line-of-sight satellite communication, allowing live imagery and mission data to be transmitted to control centers.
Reliable and uninterrupted communication infrastructure is essential for unmanned systems to operate effectively in the field. Satellite communication has become an indispensable technology for platforms conducting operations across vast geographical areas and beyond line-of-sight ranges. CTech's SkyARX and AquaARX systems address this critical capability gap for the Turkish defense industry and expand the operational capabilities of unmanned vehicles. The successful integration demonstrated during the exercise confirmed the reliability of these technologies in field operations.
Globally, unmanned systems' communication requirements are met through NATO-standard solutions with high bandwidth capacity. CTech's satellite communication terminals are designed to compete with international equivalents. Strengthening the communication capabilities of Turkey's successful unmanned platforms, including BAYKAR's Bayraktar TB2 and TB3, alongside unmanned ground and maritime vehicles developed by HAVELSAN and TUSAŞ, holds strategic importance for national defense. The TURNAs 2026 exercise exemplified the collaboration and localization efforts of companies forming this ecosystem.
