BREAKING NEWS
Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS Group) has introduced a new generation mobile defense architecture designed to respond to the increasingly complex demands of the modern battlefield. Developed against swarm and kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicle threats, the solution combines the advanced capabilities of CANiK, AEI Systems and UNIROBOTICS within a single structure. At a time when asymmetric UAV threats are growing rapidly, this concept stands out as a highly capable defensive shield. Unlike conventional air defense approaches, the system offers a distributed protection network that can operate without relying on a single centralized command structure.
Led by UNIROBOTICS, the New Generation Mobile Layered Counter-UAS Defense Architecture brings together the Group’s 12.7 mm M3 heavy machine gun and 30 mm VENOM LR medium-caliber cannon systems in one mobile ecosystem. One of the most remarkable aspects of the concept is that the Remote Controlled Weapon Stations integrated onto any 4x4 mobile platform are able to operate independently with their own sensors and operators. This enables the architecture to function without dependence on a single command center. Even if one element is disabled, the remaining units continue operating, preventing the collapse of the defensive line. Such a structure ensures operational continuity even under electronic warfare conditions or direct attack.
The system adopts a three-layer kinetic protection concept to neutralize threats at different ranges. In the outer layer, the TRAKON 30 RCWS uses a 30x113 mm cannon capable of firing up to 1,350 rounds per minute and engaging targets at ranges of up to 2 kilometers. Using highly destructive HEI-HEDP and proximity-fuzed ammunition, this layer is designed to counter loitering munitions such as the Shahed-136 as well as Class 1 and Class 2 UAVs under NATO classification. In the middle layer, the TRAKON 12.7 system employs an M3 heavy machine gun with a firing rate of up to 1,200 rounds per minute, creating a dense wall of fire against kamikaze drone threats. The final protection layer is provided by the TRAKON LITE 134, which uses a 7.62 mm M134 Minigun capable of firing 3,000 rounds per minute, allowing it to eliminate smaller and very close-range threats within seconds.
The fact that all major system components are produced within SYS Group by UNIROBOTICS, CANiK and AEI Systems provides an important advantage in system integration. This in-house capability brings major benefits including rapid delivery, scalable production and a reliable supply chain. As a result, the solution gains additional strategic value in the protection of critical infrastructure, military bases and high-risk areas. SYS Group CEO Cahit Utku Aral emphasized that modern conflict environments increasingly require cost-effective and survivable solutions on the battlefield, noting that this architecture represents not only a product but also a new generation defense mindset. UNIROBOTICS General Manager Ömür Baç also underlined that low-cost drone threats now appear not individually but in swarms, and stated that this flexible solution, capable of operating in both centralized and decentralized structures, delivers an optimized defense network for the modern battlespace.
