BREAKING NEWS
The Ministry of National Defense announced that ASELSAN’s domestically developed Weapon Detection Radar has officially joined the inventory of the Turkish Land Forces. This development is regarded as a strategic milestone on Türkiye’s path toward defense industry independence. Designed with cutting-edge technology, the radar system enhances the safety of soldiers on the battlefield while significantly increasing operational effectiveness.
The Weapon Detection Radar stands out with its electronically scanned antenna structure, digital beamforming technology, and rapid deployment capability. Its ability to be quickly installed and adapted to harsh battlefield conditions ensures reliable performance under modern combat scenarios. One of its most notable features is the ability to simultaneously detect multiple munitions, allowing enemy positions to be located swiftly and enabling effective countermeasures.
Thanks to advanced data processing algorithms, the radar provides highly accurate tracking of enemy fire, thereby improving the protection of friendly units. Particularly, its capability to pinpoint the origin of artillery, mortar, and rocket attacks substantially boosts the operational power of the Land Forces. This system not only strengthens defensive capabilities but also enhances strategic offensive planning.
ASELSAN’s successful development of this radar highlights Türkiye’s technological progress in the defense industry. By relying on domestic production capabilities, the system reduces foreign dependency while also carrying strong potential for export to international markets. The addition of the Weapon Detection Radar to the Land Forces’ arsenal will ensure that the Turkish Armed Forces maintain a more effective and deterrent presence in future operations.
