BREAKING NEWS
ASELSAN, one of Türkiye’s leading defense industry companies, has introduced a groundbreaking innovation for military vehicles. Showcased at IDEF 2023, the Hybrid Propulsion System enables vehicles to operate silently, minimizing detection by adversaries. This feature greatly enhances operational efficiency in urban environments while providing strategic superiority on the battlefield. The system adapts ASELSAN’s proven civilian electric traction technologies for use in demanding military applications.
In collaboration with BMC Power, ASELSAN has developed a specialized hybrid architecture for 4x4, 6x6, and 8x8 military vehicles. This design not only mitigates range limitations but also leverages electronic differential motor technology. In case of a failure, power can be automatically redirected to other motors, ensuring uninterrupted vehicle operation even in challenging terrains—an essential capability for combat readiness.
A standout feature of the system is its Integrated Generator Unit. Beyond recharging the batteries, it also supplies power to field personnel and other military systems, effectively removing the need for additional generators. This reduces logistical burdens and improves overall operational efficiency.
This innovation will significantly enhance the operational capabilities of the Turkish Armed Forces, while reinforcing ASELSAN’s role as a pioneer in Türkiye’s indigenous defense industry. Hybrid propulsion technology is poised to become an essential component of next-generation military vehicles, offering stealth, endurance, and energy efficiency in modern warfare.
