Türkiye’s leading defense electronics company ASELSAN has taken another major step in its international expansion by opening a new office in Jakarta, Indonesia, during the INDO Defence 2025 Expo—one of Asia’s largest defense industry exhibitions. The new office is set to serve as a regional hub, supporting ASELSAN’s growing operations in Southeast Asia through direct engagement, customized solutions, and long-term sustainment services.
The official inauguration ceremony was attended by Defense Industry Agency (SSB) President Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, Deputy Minister of Defense Şuay Alpay, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Gen. Kemal Yeni, ASELSAN CEO Ahmet Akyol, ROKETSAN CEO Murat İkinci, HAVELSAN CEO Dr. Mehmet Akif Nacar, and senior Indonesian officials. Speaking at the event, Görgün emphasized the office’s strategic significance:
“Witnessing the opening of ASELSAN’s Indonesia Office and the signing of new strategic agreements that strengthen our partnership with Indonesia is a great honor. This office will build bridges of technology, knowledge, and friendship between our nations.”
In conjunction with the office opening, ASELSAN signed five major cooperation agreements aimed at enhancing its role in Indonesia’s defense ecosystem. The agreement with PT PINDAD covers collaboration in weapon systems, guidance, and fire-control technologies. Another deal with PT LEN Industri and DEFEND ID focuses on radar, surveillance, cybersecurity, and command-control systems, including technology transfer and co-production initiatives. The CSC Group agreement targets new business opportunities, while the deal with Excalibur Army involves integrating ASELSAN systems into PATRIOT 4x4 armored vehicles. Finally, ASELSAN’s cooperation with PT PAL will focus on naval modernization and new platform development projects.
ASELSAN CEO Ahmet Akyol highlighted the strategic importance of the company’s growing footprint in the region:
“With our new office in Indonesia, we are proud to bring advanced capabilities and trusted partnerships to an important strategic market. ASELSAN Indonesia will serve as a local bridge, enabling sustainable and high-impact cooperation with our regional partners.”
The new ASELSAN Indonesia Office marks a critical step in strengthening Türkiye’s defense industry presence across Asia. It will facilitate technology export, local collaboration, and engineering integration efforts, while also supporting Türkiye’s broader defense export growth strategy and long-term vision of global technological leadership.
