BREAKING NEWS
Turkey’s defense industry continues to rise on the world stage, with ASELSAN achieving a remarkable global ranking. The Ankara-based defense electronics leader has been listed by Companies Market Cap as the 18th most valuable publicly traded defense company worldwide, boasting a market value of $15.18 billion. This recognition places ASELSAN alongside some of the most powerful defense contractors in the world, underscoring Turkey’s growing technological and industrial strength.
At the top of the list stands RTX (formerly Raytheon Technologies) from the United States with a valuation of $180 billion, followed by Honeywell ($144 billion) and France’s Safran ($124 billion). Other notable names include Lockheed Martin, Rheinmetall, BAE Systems, General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, Thales, and L3Harris Technologies. ASELSAN’s inclusion among these giants highlights its transformation from a regional supplier to a global defense powerhouse capable of competing at the highest levels.
Founded in the aftermath of the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation to counter foreign arms embargoes, ASELSAN has evolved over five decades into the technological backbone of Turkey’s defense ecosystem. The company develops cutting-edge systems in military communications, radar and electronic warfare, electro-optics, command and control, air defense, and unmanned technologies. Its products are now exported to dozens of countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
In 2025, ASELSAN also achieved the highest market value on the Borsa Istanbul (BIST 100) index, reflecting both strong investor confidence and increasing global demand for its products. Experts note that ASELSAN’s success is driven by more than financial metrics — it reflects sustained R&D investment, field-proven technologies, and long-term strategic partnerships that align with Turkey’s vision for defense self-sufficiency and global competitiveness.
ASELSAN’s continued rise signals not only a national achievement but also Turkey’s emergence as a formidable global player in the defense technology arena. As the company strengthens its partnerships and expands its export footprint, its position in the global rankings is expected to climb even higher in the years ahead.
