BREAKING NEWS
ASELSAN, Turkey’s leading defense electronics company, has achieved yet another international success in the field of advanced printed circuit board (PCB) technologies. The company won second place in the “Defense, Aerospace and Space” category at the prestigious PCB Technology Leadership Awards (TLA) 2015 with its innovative AVPX-C4C Avionic Processor Board. This achievement further cements ASELSAN’s reputation as a global contender in high-end electronic design and avionics engineering.
The competition, now in its 26th year, is organized by Mentor Graphics—one of the world’s foremost providers of electronic design automation software. The awards recognize the most sophisticated and cutting-edge PCB designs across multiple categories. ASELSAN’s VPX-based AVPX-C4C board competed against advanced designs from top global defense and aerospace companies. Despite the intense competition, ASELSAN stood out with its technical excellence and secured the second-place position.
This recognition adds to ASELSAN’s earlier success in 2012, when the company surpassed Israel’s IAI Elta to win first place in the same category. The award has previously been claimed by global giants such as NASA, General Electric, Selex Galileo, L-3 Avionics Systems, General Dynamics, BAE, DRS and Astrium. By securing both first and second place within three years, ASELSAN has demonstrated the remarkable rise of Turkey’s engineering capabilities on the world stage.
The AVPX-C4C Avionic Processor Board plays a critical role in ASELSAN’s next-generation avionic display and cockpit systems designed for both military and civilian aviation platforms. The board’s development pushed the limits of electronic design technologies, incorporating high-performance processing, dense multilayer structures and advanced signal integrity solutions. Its architecture supports multiple high-speed communication protocols, enabling seamless adaptability across different aircraft types through software configurations alone. This flexibility reduces costs and promotes architectural standardization across multiple air platforms.
ASELSAN’s achievement not only highlights a single technological milestone but also underscores the strength of Turkey’s domestic engineering ecosystem. As Turkey continues advancing its indigenous capabilities in avionics, defense electronics and critical subsystem development, international recognitions like this validate the nation’s growing influence in high-technology sectors. ASELSAN’s continued excellence contributes significantly to Turkey’s long-term vision of technological independence and innovation-driven growth.
