ASELSAN has taken another strategic step in line with its global growth objectives by establishing a joint venture in Oman. The agreement between ASELSAN, one of Türkiye’s leading defense technology companies, and Sinan Advanced Industries, one of Oman’s prominent defense industry firms, was signed during SAHA 2026. The signing ceremony marked an important milestone in giving the defense industry cooperation between the two countries a more institutional structure.
The new joint venture will operate under the name SINAN ASELSAN SYSTEMS LLC. The founding agreement was signed by ASELSAN President and CEO Ahmet Akyol and Sinan Advanced Industries CEO Majid El Hina at the ceremony held within the scope of SAHA 2026. The new structure is considered an important part of ASELSAN’s strategy to strengthen its presence in international markets, develop regional solutions through local partnerships and establish long-term defense industry cooperation with friendly countries.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, ASELSAN CEO Ahmet Akyol highlighted the developing relations between Türkiye and Oman. Akyol stated that the joint venture was established as a reflection of the cooperation agreements signed during President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s visit to Oman in 2025. He said he believes the new company will further strengthen the positive relations between the two countries and open the door to new areas of cooperation in the defense industry.
Sinan Advanced Industries CEO Majid El Hina also expressed his wishes for the agreement to be beneficial, emphasizing the importance of expanding cooperation with ASELSAN. The joint venture between the Omani company and ASELSAN is expected to go beyond a commercial partnership by creating a platform for technology cooperation, development of local capabilities and production of solutions tailored to regional defense needs.
ASELSAN’s export-oriented growth strategy has made international partnerships and local cooperation models increasingly important. SINAN ASELSAN SYSTEMS LLC may contribute to positioning ASELSAN technologies more effectively in Oman and regional markets. With its broad product portfolio in radar, communication, electro-optics, command and control, electronic warfare and defense systems, ASELSAN aims to increase its global brand value and establish sustainable business models in different geographies through such partnerships.
The founding agreement signed at SAHA 2026 shows that defense industry relations between Türkiye and Oman have entered a new phase. Activities to be carried out through the joint venture are expected to pave the way for broader cooperation in technology, production, maintenance, integration and exports. ASELSAN’s step in Oman stands out as a strategic development that strengthens the Turkish defense industry’s internationalization vision and its approach to building joint production and ecosystem models with friendly countries.
