BREAKING NEWS
The artificial intelligence-enabled ASAS system is being integrated into operational vehicles by the Gendarmerie General Command to enhance driving safety and optimize vehicle management. The system analyzes data from integrated vehicles in central servers, monitoring driver behavior and ensuring operational effectiveness. In addition to fundamental vehicle parameters such as location, speed, engine RPM, and fuel status, the system also records whether the driver is using a seatbelt.
Operating on the Gendarmerie General Command's own physical servers, the system maintains all vehicle data securely through centralized data storage and management infrastructure. Individual driving habits are tracked through personalized cards assigned to each driver, while preventing unauthorized personnel from operating vehicles. The system continues recording 24/7 even when vehicles are parked or lack network connectivity, preventing data loss. This capability provides a critical advantage in terms of operational continuity and data integrity.
When a violation is detected, ASAS provides real-time audio alerts to the driver, enabling immediate intervention. Dangerous behaviors such as phone use, eating or drinking, fatigue indicators, lane violations, sudden braking, and abrupt maneuvers are automatically detected by the system and trigger audio warnings. A 10-second video recording of the violation is transmitted to central servers, allowing authorized personnel to examine the incident in detail. This approach provides objective evidence for driver training and disciplinary actions.
The integration of artificial intelligence and data analytics technologies in the Turkish defense and security sector represents an important development in enhancing operational effectiveness and personnel safety. Indigenous solutions like ASAS increase the capacity of security forces in vehicle management, driver behavior analysis, and operational planning. The system provides functionality comparable to international standards in vehicle telemetry and driver monitoring systems, while offering advantages in data security and operational control due to its operation on domestic infrastructure. Such technologies align with the modernization of security forces and technology localization objectives.
The 150 different reports generated by ASAS provide comprehensive data for operational decision-making. Information such as total kilometers traveled by patrol vehicles, fuel consumption analysis, personnel working hours and duty periods, violation types, and frequently encountered accident causes support management and planning activities. Through these analyses, vehicles can operate more efficiently, drivers can work more safely, and personnel can perform their duties under healthier working conditions. The system provides valuable insights for operational efficiency while also offering important information for human resources management and vehicle maintenance planning.
