BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye’s jet trainer aircraft HÜRJET has achieved another milestone in defense aviation by becoming the country’s first flying platform integrated with an embedded simulation and training system. Developed by HAVELSAN, this advanced capability allows pilots to conduct mission-based training scenarios during actual flight, significantly enhancing operational readiness and training efficiency.
HAVELSAN CEO Mehmet Akif Nacar stated that 2025 has been a highly successful year for the company both financially and technologically. He emphasized that the embedded simulation system represents a major leap forward for pilot training concepts, enabling realistic threat and mission simulations without relying solely on ground-based simulators. This approach reduces costs while increasing training continuity and realism.
Within the scope of the HÜRJET Embedded Training System Project, Phase-1 Factory Acceptance Tests have been successfully completed. These tests confirmed that the system operates reliably under flight conditions. In parallel, HAVELSAN also delivered the first software version of the embedded training system developed for Türkiye’s National Combat Aircraft KAAN, with second-phase development already underway.
HAVELSAN’s achievements extend beyond HÜRJET and KAAN projects. The company continues to strengthen its global footprint through exports of its Network-Enabled Warfare solutions, particularly the ADVENT Combat Management System, which is now operational across four continents. According to Nacar, the NATO market remains a strategic priority, and upcoming NATO-related projects are expected to further expand HAVELSAN’s international presence.
Experts highlight that the embedded simulation capability integrated into HÜRJET is a critical enabler for Türkiye’s transition toward 5th and 6th generation air platforms. This innovation is expected to transform pilot training doctrines while reinforcing the technological depth and competitiveness of the national defense industry on a global scale.
