The shipyard, which was established in 1974 by Profilo Holding in the Golden Horn under the title of "P.K.M. Shipbuilding Industry and Sea Transport Management Inc.", continued yacht building and repair activities until 1984. After this date, it was moved to Tuzla Shipyards Region.
The shares of the shipyard were transferred to Koç Group on 26.06.1997, and as of August 1999, the activities started to be carried out under the name of RMK Marine Shipbuilding Industry and Sea Transport Management Inc. Following the accession to the Koç Group, two military logistics vessels were built and delivered to the Turkish Navy in 2000.
In 2006, the Ministry of National Defense awarded the tender for four "Coast Guard Search and Rescue Ships" for the Coast Guard Command, thus realizing the largest combat ship project ever undertaken in the Turkish private sector. The project started with a ceremony held on May 3, 2008; Three ships with a length of 88 meters and a width of 12 meters, named TCSG Dost, TCSG Güven and TCSG Umut, were delivered to the Coast Guard Command in 2013 and TCSG Yaşam in 2014.
By closely following the innovations in the sector, the product range has been continuously improved and RMK Marine has become one of the leading shipyards of the Turkish Shipbuilding Industry. Cooperation has been made with many companies from Türkiye, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Denmark, Spain, Norway, Sweden and England in commercial shipbuilding.
In the shipyard, modern technical infrastructure has been created that can carry out the construction, maintenance, repair and restoration of all types of superyachts with steel, composite and aluminum materials and construction techniques. Most of the superyachts built have been awarded various international awards.
