GİRSAN was established in 1994 under the Eastern Black Sea Firearms Project in coordination with KOSGEB and the Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKEK). In 1995, the company introduced the Yavuz 16 Compact and Yavuz 16 Regard models to the market. In 1999, it transitioned to production automation with computer-aided CNC machines, and in 2001 it was privatized, continuing its operations under a private-sector structure. Today, GİRSAN is an industrial manufacturer that competes globally in the design and production of light weapons—especially pistols—integrating modern technologies into its processes.
