AKDAŞ Arms Inc. was founded by Ömer Akdaş from Huğlu in 1948. Drawing from the knowledge and experience he gained in manufacturing and repairing muzzle-loading and single-barrel hunting rifles under the masters of his time, he established his own gun workshop. Known for his craftsmanship, Ömer Akdaş became recognized as the chief master who produced the first domestically manufactured double-barrel hunting rifle in Türkiye.

During his active years, he earned great appreciation from Turkish hunters and made significant contributions to raising quality standards and developing new models in the industry.

In 1987, with the involvement of Selim Akdaş, the company transitioned from a workshop to an industrial-scale mass production facility. The production infrastructure was modernized, and the machinery park was expanded. Thanks to the increased production capacity, in addition to manufacturing hunting rifles, the company also began producing spare parts for the defense and textile industries.
