BREAKING NEWS
Turkish defense industry platforms continue to take the field across different regions of the world. The Yörük 4x4 light armored vehicle, developed within Türkiye’s defense ecosystem, has officially begun its first operational mission in Chad after being delivered under an export agreement. With this deployment, Yörük 4x4 not only strengthens Türkiye’s presence in the African defense market but also adds a new milestone to the growing list of Turkish armored vehicle exports.
Designed to offer top-tier mobility and protection in its class, the Yörük 4x4 stands out with its ability to undertake multiple roles in conflict zones and high-risk environments. The vehicle can operate as a combat platform, personnel carrier, air-defense support vehicle, or reconnaissance asset, giving user nations significant tactical flexibility. With a weight of 8 tons, a payload capacity of 4 tons, and seating for up to 7 personnel, the Yörük 4x4 offers both operational versatility and the ability to integrate various mission-specific equipment and weapon systems — making it highly suitable for modern asymmetric warfare scenarios.
Chad, where the Yörük 4x4 has started its first mission, had previously incorporated Türkiye’s Ejder Yalçın armored vehicles into its inventory. The addition of Yörük 4x4 further reflects the growing confidence in Turkish armored platforms and their proven performance in challenging field conditions. The presence of both vehicles within Chad’s security forces enables complementary operational use, improving mission effectiveness and tactical coordination in regional security operations.
According to the manufacturer, export contracts for the Yörük 4x4 have already been signed with four countries, with discussions ongoing with several others across various regions. These agreements demonstrate Türkiye’s expanding defense export capabilities and the competitive position that Turkish armored vehicles are gaining in the international market. The Yörük 4x4’s deployment in Africa is expected to further strengthen its operational reputation and contribute positively to Türkiye–Africa defense cooperation.
