BREAKING NEWS
France’s decision to halt missile engine supplies has prompted Türkiye to take a decisive step toward defense self-reliance. Rather than depending on foreign technology, Turkish engineers have developed indigenous missile engines that not only bypass the embargo but also strengthen the country’s overall defense capabilities. According to defense industry researcher Anıl Şahin, ROKETSAN’s missile systems will now be equipped with Kale Arge’s KTJ-3200 and KTJ-1750 turbojet engines. These engines, specifically designed for Atmaca and SOM cruise missiles, have already entered serial production and delivery.
The embargo forced Ankara to accelerate domestic solutions, as stockpiles of French-made engines began to dwindle. With the integration of the KTJ-3200 and KTJ-1750, Türkiye has secured a sustainable and independent supply chain for its missile programs. Upcoming test launches of the Atmaca and Çakır missiles powered by these indigenous engines are expected to demonstrate their effectiveness, further enhancing Türkiye’s reputation in the international defense arena.
The KTJ-3200 and KTJ-1750 engines are reported to deliver competitive thrust, durability, and reliability compared to foreign alternatives. This positions Türkiye not only to overcome embargo challenges but also to push its technological capabilities forward. Successful deployment of these engines will strengthen the export potential of Turkish missile systems while reinforcing the country’s independence in critical defense technologies.
This milestone highlights Türkiye’s determination to achieve strategic autonomy in defense. By investing in homegrown missile engine technologies, the country is enhancing its military capacity while simultaneously solidifying its standing in the global defense industry.
