Türkiye’s defense industry is preparing to highlight its research and development (R&D) capabilities at the upcoming TSSK Project Market and Cooperation Summit. Now in its eighth year, the event will take place on February 15 at the Middle East Technical University (METU) Culture and Congress Center in Ankara. It serves as a vital platform for collaboration, bringing together industry players, R&D teams, and international partners.
According to Bilal Aktaş, Chairman of the TSSK Board, the summit plays a crucial role in developing indigenous solutions tailored to the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces. Currently, more than 100 companies and over 2,000 R&D personnel are working on 400+ defense projects, demonstrating Türkiye’s depth of expertise and commitment to innovation. Major national programs such as Bayraktar AKINCI, Bayraktar TB2, ANKA, MİLGEM, ATAK, HÜRKUŞ, ALTAY, and GÖKTÜRK will also be highlighted as examples of success in indigenous production and advanced technology.
This year’s event is also set to strengthen international cooperation. The participation of the Prince Sultan Defense R&D Center from Saudi Arabia is expected to open new doors for joint projects between the two countries. Such collaborations could enhance not only Türkiye’s global footprint in defense but also bilateral knowledge exchange in advanced military technologies.
TSSK Vice Chairman Burak Akbaş announced that 60 companies are expected to take part, with around 2,000 visitors anticipated. Backed by the support of SASAD Secretary General Ruşen Kömürcü, the summit will present the latest innovations, partnerships, and opportunities in the sector. Overall, the event highlights Turkey’s determination to establish itself not only as a producer but also as a global leader in defense R&D and technology development.
