Turkey’s defense industry continued its strong presence in international markets by participating in the Adriatic Defense and Aerospace Exhibition (ASDA-2025), held in Zagreb, Croatia. The exhibition, hosted at the Zagreb Arena from April 8 to 10, brought together representatives from more than 30 countries and served as a key platform for promoting Turkish defense capabilities in the Balkan and Central European markets.
Under the coordination of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), major Turkish defense organizations such as ASFAT, Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi (MKE) Inc., and Baykar, along with several private sector firms, took part in the event. The Turkish pavilion featured a diverse array of systems — from armored land vehicles and unmanned aerial systems to naval technologies, ammunition, and advanced electronic systems. Among the highlights, Baykar’s UAVs and ASFAT’s naval modernization solutions drew strong interest from regional defense delegations, while MKE’s precision weaponry and ammunition attracted attention from Balkan and NATO member countries.
This year’s ASDA emphasized digital transformation, sustainability, and green energy — topics that align closely with the latest innovations within Turkey’s defense sector. Turkish companies participated not only as exhibitors but also in workshops and expert panels, where they discussed opportunities for joint production, technology transfer, and maintenance partnerships with regional partners. These discussions are expected to pave the way for future cooperation in modernization projects within NATO-aligned defense networks.
Turkey’s growing participation in international defense exhibitions — from Asia to Europe — reflects its strategic shift toward “on-site promotion” and local engagement. The strong showing at ASDA-2025 underscores that Turkish defense and aerospace technologies are increasingly competitive, not only in the Middle East and Africa but also across Eastern and Southern Europe, where modernization and interoperability demand continues to rise.
