BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye’s rapidly expanding defense industry is preparing for a major showcase at BAMEX 2025, Africa’s most significant defense and security exhibition. The event, hosted in Bamako, Mali, will take place from November 11 to 14, featuring a format that combines exhibition days with live “Demo Day” sessions — where participating companies will demonstrate their systems directly in the field before official delegations. The fair is expected to open new opportunities for investment, technology transfer, and joint production partnerships between Türkiye and African nations.
Türkiye will be represented by its leading defense contractors, including ASELSAN, BAYKAR, ROKETSAN, MKE, and TUSAŞ, highlighting the country’s broad capabilities in land, air, and electronic systems. From unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and precision-guided munitions to command-control and communication systems, the Turkish defense portfolio continues to attract attention for its proven operational performance in diverse environments.
The “Demo Day” segment of BAMEX will allow defense delegations to witness these systems in real-world operational scenarios, emphasizing solutions for border surveillance, counter-terrorism, reconnaissance, and protection of critical infrastructure — key priorities for many African nations. The event is expected to host delegations from over 35 countries, primarily from across the African continent.
Türkiye’s growing role in Africa’s defense sector builds on years of successful cooperation, as Turkish systems are already in active use in several African militaries. The BAMEX 2025 participation signals Türkiye’s intent to move from supplier status to strategic partner, fostering localized production, training networks, and maintenance facilities that strengthen long-term collaboration.
Experts note that Türkiye’s presence at BAMEX also aligns with its broader geopolitical vision — enhancing regional security through sustainable defense cooperation. As Turkish technology continues to gain global recognition, BAMEX 2025 is set to become a key platform for demonstrating how nationally developed systems can meet Africa’s complex and evolving security needs.
