BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye’s armored vehicle manufacturer Nurol Makina continues to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia. During the Indo Defence Expo & Forum 2025 held in Jakarta, the company showcased its YÖRÜK (NMS) 4x4 Light Armored Vehicle, which has already proven its performance in the service of Indonesia’s elite police tactical unit, BRIMOB.
Mehmet Çorbacıoğlu, Nurol Makina’s Director of Business Development, noted that this was the company’s third participation in the Indo Defence exhibition and highlighted the growing interest in YÖRÜK 4x4 across the region. “We successfully completed the deliveries of YÖRÜK vehicles to Indonesia’s BRIMOB last year. Currently, around 80 YÖRÜK 4x4 vehicles are operational in Indonesia. We are now engaging with the Indonesian Armed Forces, which have also shown strong interest in the platform, and will continue these discussions after the exhibition,” he said.
Building on its earlier success in Malaysia, Nurol Makina aims to further expand its reach in Southeast Asia by establishing long-term defense cooperation and exploring local production partnerships. Designed for both military and internal security operations, the YÖRÜK 4x4 combines high mobility and protection in a compact, modular structure. The vehicle can be adapted for reconnaissance, air defense, command-control, or combat missions, making it one of the most versatile light armored platforms in its class.
With a combat weight of approximately 8 tons and the capacity to carry up to 11 personnel, YÖRÜK 4x4 offers superior protection against ballistic threats, mines, and improvised explosive devices. It is capable of reaching speeds up to 140 km/h and can be fitted with a range of weapon systems, including 7.62 mm and 12.7 mm machine guns, 40 mm grenade launchers, air defense, and anti-tank systems.
First introduced in 2017, the YÖRÜK 4x4 quickly attracted global attention during its development phase and has since achieved multiple export successes. Its growing adoption in Southeast Asia underscores Türkiye’s expanding influence in the global armored vehicle market and highlights the success of its indigenous defense industry in meeting international demand for modern, high-performance land systems.
